5% is a category previously defined as [[Low% Glitched]], superseding 8%, but it was itself superseded by [[3%]], then by [[2%]], then by [[0%]]. At the time it was the lowest item percentage possible while beating the game by any means necessary.

This was the first Low% Glitched category to introduce resetting to Ceres to erase missiles from Samus' inventory, leading to the category being defined by the item percentage rather than the number of item pickups.

Note that the current World Record route for [[Any% Glitched]] also collects 5%, thanks to newer discoveries.

== Route ==

This category follows the standard early game (except without Charge Beam or the [[Terminator]] Energy Tank) up through Early Power Bombs, then collects X-Ray. Afterward, X-Ray climb in [[Crab Tunnel]] and warp to [[Pseudo Plasma Spark Room]]. Go down to [[Aqueduct]], and navigate Out of Bounds to a certain point, where you'll activate X-Ray to set the escape flag and reset the Ceres flag. Navigate back in-bounds, save, and reset. Once you play through Ceres, Samus will land on the exploding Zebes, and you can re-enter the ship to finish the game.
